TOKYO: Suzuki Motor Corp on Tuesday said it will complete by 2017 a car factory at Gujarat, a state it selected for the investment for its good power and infrastructure.<br /><br />"The company has selected Gujarat for its new facility because it has good infrastructure of roads and has abundant power supply," Suzuki Motor Corporation chairman & CEO Osamu Suzuki said.<br /><br />Addressing a business symposium during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Japan, Suzuki said: "We have decided to expand capacity of our plant in Gujarat. It is to be completed in 2017.<br /><br />"We are happy to make investments in India. We have selected Gujarat because it has best power situation."<br /><br />Praising the Indian Prime Minister, Suzuki said: "Modi focused on this issue (infrastructure and power) and he turned it (Gujarat) into a good power state.<br /><br />"Modi is friend and we would like to be in touch with you (Modi)."<br /><br />When Suzuki's Gujarat project becomes fully operational, its total annually capacity will be 3 million, up from the current 1.5 million from the Gurgaon and Manesar plants of its subsidiary Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.<br /><br />MSIL is in the process of getting minority shareholders' nod to let its parent Suzuki Motor Corp own and invest in its Gujarat facility.<br /><br />In March, under pressure from institutional investors, MSIL had decided to seek minority shareholders' approval after tweaking some of the earlier proposals for the Gujarat plant.<br /><br />As per the revised plan for Gujarat project, Suzuki Motor, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, would make the investment through depreciation and the equity brought in by the parent without 'mark-up' on cost of production.<br /><br />In case of termination of the contract manufacturing agreement between them, the facilities of the Gujarat subsidiary would be transferred to MSIL at book value and not at fair value as was envisaged before.</div>

Since, it is just a mid-life makeover, the crossover will mainly receive cosmetic changes and minor technical upgrades.<br /><br />The front-fascia of the updated X3 gets relatively larger head-lamps with a rather prominent BMW kidney grille. That said, the LED infused head-lamps are likely to be offered as an optional feature. The front and rear bumpers have also been revamped, while other changes include ORVMs with side blinkers and restyled alloy wheels. BMW will most probably also introduce new body paint options.<br /><br />Visually, the new X3 differentiates itself from the outgoing model with the help of its restyled twin circular headlights, a more eye-catching kidney grille, new front and rear bumpers, and exterior mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators. Inside, the cabin gets premium interiors with chrome accents, coverable cup holders and new panelling. The HVAC display is entirely new and the optional navigation system has been replaced by a new re-engineered unit.<br /><br />Globally, the new X3 is available with a choice of four diesel and three petrol engines, with outputs ranging from 150bhp to 313bhp, but for the Indian market, the updated mid-size SUV is expected to get the TwinPower 2-litre diesel engine which has been tuned to offer more power and efficiency. The engine churns out 187bhp of power and 400Nm of torque in the xDrive models (AWD) and 147bhp and 360Nm of torque in the sDrive. BMW India may only offer it in a single engine option which, in all probability, will be with the xDrive variant.<br /><br />Like the existing X3, this new model will compete with the Audi Q5 and the Land Rover Freelander 2 in the Rs 45-60 lakh range. Full details on the vehicle will be available only tomorrow because that’s when BMW will be launching it here in India.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">सोसाइटी आफ इंडियन आटोमोबाइल मैन्युफैक्चर्स के अप्रैल-जुलाई के ताजा आंकड़ों के मुताबिक, कारों का निर्यात 5.02 प्रतिशत घटकर 1,71,274 इकाइयों का रहा जो बीते साल की इसी अवधि में 1,80,332 इकाइयों का था। सियाम के महानिदेशक विष्णु माथुर ने कहा, आज भारतीय कारों का निर्यात नयी दिशा ले रहा है। पहले ज्यादातर निर्यात यूरोप और दक्षिण एशिया को होता था, लेकिन दोनों जगह नरमी है और कंपनियां लातिन अमेरिका व अफ्रीका में नए बाजार तैयार करने पर ध्यान दे रही हैं। यूरोप और पड़ोसी देशों में हुए घाटे से उबरने में समय लगेगा। भारत की सबसे बड़ी कार निर्यातक हुंदै ने यूरोप के लिए माडलों का उत्पादन तुर्की व चेक गणराज्य ले जाने के बाद अपने चेन्नई संयंत्र से यूरोप के लिए निर्यात बंद कर दिया है। कंपनी के इस कदम से उसके चेन्नई संयंत्र से निर्यात में करीब 25 प्रतिशत की कमी आएगी और इस साल यह 1.9 लाख इकाइयों का रह जाएगा जो पिछले साल 2.53 लाख इकाइयों का था। पिछले साल भारत से कारों के कुल निर्यात में हुंदै का 45 प्रतिशत योगदान रहा।<br /><br />दूसरी ओर, र्शीलंका, बांग्लादेश और नेपाल जैसे पड़ोसी देशों में चुनौतियों से भी भारत ने कारों के निर्यात के अवसर गंवाए हैं। माथुर ने कहा, हमारे पड़ोस में, र्शीलंका को निर्यात पर रोक है, जबकि बांग्लादेश सेकेंड हैंड वाहनों का बाजार बन गया है और इसी तरह की स्थिति नेपाल व भूटान में है जिससे हमारी छोटी कारों का निर्यात गैर-प्रतिस्पर्धी बन गया है।<br /></span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">कंपनी ने नए महिंद्रा रोडियो यूजेडओ 125 स्कूटर को पहले से ज्यादार स्टाइलिश, ऑप्टिमाइज परफॉर्मेंस और यूनिक फीचर्स के साथ 47,957 रुपए की कीमत पर लांच किया है। महिंद्रा रोडियो यूजेडओ स्टैंडर्ड स्कूटर रोडियो का प्रीमियम वर्जन है। नए वर्जन में कंपनी ने टू टोन डुअल टेक्स्चर सीट और रंगीन व्हील का इस्तेमाल किया है। रोडियो यूजेडओ एडवांस डीसीडीआई टेक्नोलॉजी और एटीएलए सिस्टम पर काम करता है जिसका दावा है कि यह अच्छी परफॉर्मेंस और कम मेंटेनेंस खर्च देता है। इस स्कूटर में मोबाइल चाजिर्ंग प्वाइंट और एंटी-थेफ्ट लॉक जैसे फीचर्स आपको मिलेंगे। साथ ही, डिजिटल इंस्ट्रूमेंट क्लस्टर जो स्पीडोमीटर, टेकोमीटर, ट्रिप मीटर, क्लॉक, हाई स्पी़ड वॉनिर्ंग अलार्म और ओडोमीटर साथ हैं, भी मौजूद है।<br /><br />रोडियो यूजेडओ स्कूटर 125सीसी के एयर कूल्ड इंजन के साथ काम करता है जो 8 पीएस पावर और 9एनएम टॉर्क जनरेट करने में सक्षम है। कंपनी का दावा है कि यह 59 किलोमीटर प्रति लीटर का माइलेज देता है। </span></div>
